Arcadia
In 1870, Henry Starke founded Starkeville, now know as Arcadia Township. Agriculture was the major industry including farming, diary products and maple sugar. Lumber boomed by 1880 with major developments to follow. Among these were a post office and the Arcadia and Betsey River Railway. During this period lots were developed in the Village of Arcadia and could be purchased for a mere $25.
Today, Arcadia is a wonderful place to relax with your family. Explore the early days on your tour of the Arcadia Historical Museum, have a picnic in the park or play at the beach or hit the links. Take in a stunning view from the highest point on the west shore of Lake Michigan, Inspiration Point. Come discover the advantages of life in a small town.
Arcadia is located along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan on M-22.
